Book Review and Giveaway – Orexi – Feasting at the Modern Greek Table
Book Review and Giveaway – Orexi – Feasting at the Modern Greek Table

Theo Michaels has written Orexi! – Feasting at the Modern Greek Table and I first met when he came to my house as part of a scheme to send a chef to cook for your family and friends in your own home by a company called La Belle Assiette.
Theo was a contestant on the popular cookery show BBC’s MasterChef UK 2014 and from there has gone from strength to strength cooking professionally and appearing on television and radio.
The book is divided into sections, each with a stunning photograph and then a personal story appropriate to that section:-
Eat Like a Greek, Yoghurt & Pita (Yiaourti kai pita)
Meze (Meze)

Sea (Thalassa)

Land (Gi)

Sun (Ilios)

Fire (Fotia)

and Sundowners (Thysi iliou)

I decided to make Cypriot Slow-Cooked White Beans in Tomato Sauce (from the Sun section on page 122). The weather lately has been cold and comfort food is just what we need.

This recipe is easy to follow and it helped that we had all of the ingredients in the fridge and cupboard. This book will be well used in my kitchen and will become a family ‘go-to’ for some time!

With recipes such as Cod with Kalamata Olives Wrapped in Dry Cured Ham, Yogurt Marinated Lamb Souvlaki and Smoked Chocolate Baklava you are sure to find loads of recipes to delight everyone!
