Book Review and Giveaway – Baladi: Palestine – A Celebration of Food from Land and Sea
Baladi: Palestine – A Celebration of Food from Land and Sea written by Joudie Kalla whose mission is to raise awareness of the food of Palestine and the community spirit of the people that live there.

This is the second book from celebrated chef and author Joudie Kalla who pays homage to the food and culture of her family’s homeland.

This book is a visual journey through the rich cuisine of Palestine. The photos are so sharp you almost expect to find that you have woken up in a Palestinian market or family kitchen.

I spent ages trying to decide which recipe I would try first. I picked the Caramelized Shallots on page 63. The recipe is simple to make and very delicious pairing really well with salad or couscous or perhaps a cold meat platter.
