Recipe: What are Fluffernutter Brownies?
What are Fluffernutter Brownies?

When I was a child as a special treat we were able to have a fluffernutter sandwich. What is a fluffernutter sandwich you might ask.
A fluffernutter is made with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. Marshmallow fluff comes in a jar and is merely whipped marshmallows.
I would say these are by far the best brownies I have ever made. I have mentioned before that I like a more cake type brownies instead of the now popular gooey brownies.
So how do you make these brownies? Here is the simple to follow recipe.

Recipe for Fluffernutter Brownies:
I used a really good quality dark chocolate and an extra dark cocoa powder but I think you could use your favourite cocoa powder and still get awesome results.

Chocolate brownies with peanut butter and marshmallow fluff
- 250 grams unsalted butter
- 200 grams dark chocolate
- 3 Tbsp golden syrup
- 4 large eggs
- 300 grams golden castor sugar
- 200 grams self raising flour
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 4-6 Tbsp peanut butter
- 4-6 Tbsp marshmallow fluff
- pinch sea salt
-
Pre-heat oven to 160°C - grease and line your square brownie pan
-
In a sauce pan melt the chocolate (broken into small pieces), butter and golden syrup until all melted together. Leave to cool slightly
-
In a large bowl crack the eggs, add sugar and whip with a hand mixer until light and fluffy
-
Gradually add the chocolate mixture stirring to make sure it is fully combined
-
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and pinch of salt
-
Melt the peanut butter (0ver a low heat)
-
Pour half of the mixture into the prepared tin
-
Drizzle half of the peanut butter over the brownies
-
Add dollops of the marshmallow fluff. It is hard to work with so don't worry if it is sticky
-
Cover with the rest of the brownie mixture
-
Drizzle the remaining peanut butter then add dollops of the marshmallow fluff
-
Bake for 30-35 minute or until a skewer comes out clean. Depending on your oven it make take a few more minutes
-
Cool on a wire cooling rack until almost cool then remove from the pan and continue to cool until completely cool
-
Slice and serve! Enjoy
